Ceylan Fruit owner Mehmet Özkahveci started market trading with his father Ahmed in Hakaniemi in 1993-94. That work has grown into Best Berry Oy, a company with multi-million-euro revenue and several employees. Mehmet’s spouse, Sari Meriläinen, has also worked with vegetables and fruit for a long time. The entrepreneur couple’s strong professional expertise is visible today in everything Best Berry does.

The company previously operated under the name Ceylan Fruit. As the business grew and became a limited liability company, the new name Best Berry was chosen. The name reflects the company’s philosophy perfectly: to offer customers the best possible products.

Depending on the season, Best Berry Oy has 3-7 of its own sales locations. At Market Square there have been as many as three, though during the coronavirus year there was only one. There are also sales locations operated by independent entrepreneurs trained by the company.
